Our golf course was originally designed by H.S. Colt in 1912, later modified by his partner Charles Alison and most recently renovated in 2010-2011 by Tom Doak, Renaissance Golf Design. We have hosted the U.S. Amateur twice, in 1915 and again in 1954 when Arnold Palmer won his first USGA title.
Founded in 1897, Country Club of Detroit is a traditional family-oriented club dedicated to providing its members an outstanding golf experience, superior dining, quality service and facilities with year-round recreation and social activities.
Members also enjoy tennis on 10 Har-Tru courts, swimming in our pool, day camp as well bowling and platform tennis. Above all, the Club is a place where good friends gather to enjoy each other’s company in a beautiful, timeless setting.
