A: It depends on the position, but all shifts will run anywhere from 4 – 6 hours long.

Q: What vendor is being used for the volunteer uniforms? How do the shirts fit?

A: The volunteer shirts for both men and women will be Peter Millar. For both men and women, the shirts fit true to size. If you are between sizes, select the smaller size. The Country Club of Detroit Golf Shop will have samples available prior to the Championship for proper fitting if needed.

Q: How will I get my apparel?

A: Apparel will be available for pick up during volunteer training. If you can not make it to a training session, your apparel will be available at Volunteer Headquarters at the beginning for the Championship week.

Q: What if my apparel doesn’t fit? Can I exchange sizes?

A: Volunteer Headquarters will have a very limited number of extra shirts set aside for size exchanges.

Q: Do I have to wear the volunteer apparel provided?

A: Yes, it is required for all volunteer shifts.

Q: What color pants should I wear? Can I wear shorts?

A: Men and women are required to wear khaki or stone pants or shorts.

Q: Do I have to wear any particular shoes?

A: Wear comfortable shoes like tennis shoes or spikeless golf shoes. Metal spikes are not permitted.

Q: When will I receive my committee assignments?

A: The volunteer committee and shift assignments will be created and distributed via Cueto, volunteer registration and scheduling module, in early August.

Q: If I don’t like my committee assignment, can I change to another committee?

A: All volunteer committee assignments will be final once made available. We will attempt to assign each volunteer to one of his or her committee preferences; however, in some cases this may not be possible. If the committee preference you selected is full, we will assign you to another committee that still has availability. Fortunately, all committees are surrounded by the action either on the golf course or on the practice facilities.

Q: When and how will I find out my volunteer schedule?

A: When you registered to volunteer for the Championship, you created a username and password via Cueto. Click or tap here to be directed to Cueto. Once distributed in early August, you will receive your schedule via email, which will also be available on Cueto.

Q: What if I can not make a scheduled shift?

A: Please message your committee chair via Cueto.

Q: Where is volunteer parking located?

A: Volunteer parking is located on the White Lot (Polo Field) on club property. Signage to the White Lot (Polo Field) will begin at the entrance to the club.

Q: When are the training sessions for volunteers?

A: Training sessions will be conducted in early August. Your Committee Chair will reach out to inform you of the date, time and location.

Q: Are there golfing privileges for volunteers?

A: If you complete four volunteer shifts, you will have access to the Volunteer Appreciation Outing on Monday, October 11, 2021. More information to follow after the Championship.

Q: Are spectator tickets available for the Championship?

A: Currently, the Championship will not have spectators due to COVID restrictions. This is subject to change and the USGA will communicate any changes as the Championship nears.
